Senses of Orthodoxy evening presentations
This is a series of five evenings presenting the worship of the ancient church from the perspective of the five senses. Each evening consists in an abridged traditional service at 7pm, followed by an one hour lecture in church and more informal fellowship downstairs in Nicholson Hall. These events are free and open to the public, and they are designed for people with limited or no knowledge of the Orthodox Church.
Our next event is this coming Friday, March 10, at 7pm. We will begin with an abridged Salutation service, based on the famous poem to the Mother of God written in the sixth century by St. Romanos the Melodist. Around 7;30pm we will have the presentation on the significance of taste in Orthodox worship given by Rev. Dr. Philip Zymaris, the liturgics professor at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline. Please click on the tab above for a brief bio.
Our first event - Sights of Orthodoxy - took place on December 16. You can watch the whole program here
